X FACTOR twin Medhi once dated his brother Samir's unwitting girlfriend - and it was a WEEK before the poor lass noticed.
The Parisian pair appeared on the ITV1 show on Saturday as Twem.
And they told yesterday how they can't resist having mischief with their identical looks. Samir admitted: "We do like to have fun being twins. One time we switched and my brother went out with my girlfriend for fun." The 25-year-olds got through to the next round - but divided the judges with their hyper version of Lady GaGa's Let's Dance. While Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh were impressed, Simon Cowell drew comparisons with last year's double act Jedward. Turning to Louis, he sniped: "This is the effect you're now having. The two monsters you created are now spreading across Europe. Here it comes back again!"
But Samir insisted: "We're not the new Jedward, definitely not.
"We've got black hair for a start - and we can sing! We don't know Jedward in France. They're only famous in Britain. We are different. They are funny guys.
"We are not here to speak about Jedward, we're here to talk about Twem."
Meanwhile Jedward - who made it to the final last year - seemed to be taking a sly dig at the duo while Saturday's show was going out. The Irish pair wrote on Twitter: "We didn't know we had tribute acts!"
On a different theme, Samir and Medhi brushed off the idea of rivalry between the English and French - raving about how much they love Blighty.
Samir told TV Biz: "I think that British love French people. We hope.
"We are crazy about England. You need a French touch in the X Factor.
"We offer something different than your usual act. That's what the show is about, isn't it?" The twins said their family were unable to watch them on TV in France but they have seen their audition online on YouTube.
They said music mogul Simon was the main draw for them to enter the X Factor. Medhi added: "Simon is very famous around the world and it's a big honour for us to sing for him.
"He is sincere and honest and has very white teeth, - and his clothes are simple. He's not just the judge of X Factor but also American Idol. In France he's very famous."
